Lynda Carter

 Carter was born in Phoenix (Arizona) as the daughter of Juanita Cordova and Colby Carter. Her father is of English and has Scots Irish Her ancestry is Scots Irish and English and her mother is Mexican and Spanish. Carter has one brother named Vincent and a sister named Pamela. Carter was just 5 years old when she made her TV debut on the Lew Kings Talent Show. Carter joined a band named Just Us during high school. The group played marimba and a conga drum. They also performed on an acoustic and a stand-up bass which was played by another band member. At the age of 15, Lynda began to sing in the local pizza joint to earn extra money. [8] She joined her cousins, The Relatives, when she turned 16. Gary Burghoff, actor, was the drummer of The Relatives. The band was first introduced in Las Vegas at the Sahara Hotel & Casino Lounge. Carter was 21 years old when she entered the kitchen. She was named "Most gifted" and decided to go into the world of music. Carter auditioned in 1970 and did a tour with The Garfin Gathering's bandleader Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first performance together was at Holiday Inn Chinatown, a San Francisco hotel that had no sidewalk entrance. They played mostly to hotel staff and guests who parked their cars beneath. The Garfin Gathering performed shows throughout the Nevada "Silver Circuit", including in several of Nevada's casino lounges. Carter decided to leave the Garfin Gathering in 1972 to pursue acting and went back to Arizona.
